Elon Musk’s SpaceX company violated the terms of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) license during the unsuccessful tests of the Starship rocket in December 2020, which ended in an explosion. Reported by The Verge.
Starship was developed for flights to the Moon and Mars. A prototype rocket exploded on December 10 during tests in Texas, failing to land properly.
According to the publication, the case attracted the attention of the FAA. The department launched its own investigation. The authorities are studying not only the rocket crash itself, but also SpaceX’s “refusal to adhere to the conditions” of the launch of spaceships. It is not specified which part of the tests could violate the license.
Earlier it was reported that the US Department of Justice is investigating the case against the head of SpaceX Elon Musk. The company is suspected of discriminating against immigrants when hiring. The agency received a complaint from a person who claimed that in March 2020 he was interviewed for one of the positions. The company asked him to confirm the legality of residence in the country. In the end, SpaceX was denied employment because he is not a US citizen.
