Russian government has worked out issue of indexing pensions of working pensioners

The Russian government, on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, has worked out the issue of indexing the pensions of working pensioners. TASS reports.

It is clarified that the Cabinet has already prepared proposals on this topic, the report has been submitted to the presidential administration.

Pensions for working pensioners were no longer indexed in 2016 in order to reduce the deficit of the Pension Fund. In October 2020, the issue of resuming indexations returned to the agenda, but then the Ministry of Finance abandoned the idea.

President Vladimir Putin in mid-December 2020 called the availability of budgetary support a condition for the return of indexation. At the same time, he noted that in a pandemic and falling incomes, the issue of indexation is important. According to the president, working pensioners deserve indexation and the Kremlin is thinking about it.
