US President Joe Biden overturned another decision of his predecessor in this post, Donald Trump. The order concerns import duties on aluminum from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), TASS reports citing the press service of the White House.
The American head considered it necessary to maintain duties on imports of aluminum products from the UAE. He explained this decision by the interests of national security, since products from an Arab country could displace domestic production.
Earlier, the Biden administration suspended the execution of a number of transactions for the sale of weapons to other countries. The Department of State attributes this to the need to “enable the new leadership to assess” such transactions, which is a common procedure when a new administration starts.
