US will tighten its approach to North Korea

The United States, under the leadership of President Joseph Biden, will change its approach to interaction with North Korea and take a tougher position. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, reports the Reuters news agency.

The American side will consider, among other things, the possibility of new sanctions against the DPRK, coordinated with the allies. In addition, the United States is going to make “diplomatic efforts” in this direction – the head of the State Department did not explain what he meant by this wording. Blinken calls the nuclear disarmament of the Korean Peninsula the goal of the new political course.

Earlier it was reported that North Korea may test intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) in the first months of the new US administration under the leadership of Joe Biden. The South Korean think tank noted that in the past, Pyongyang has already met a change of US leadership with military provocations in order to test Washington’s reaction and attract the attention of the new administration.
