So, for the first month of this year, vegetables and pasta have risen as much as possible. However, the government emphasizes that no new restrictive measures are planned.
So, cucumbers have risen in price by 9.7 percent, on average one kilogram costs 107.3 rubles. The cost of a kilogram of potatoes increased by 8.4 percent to 16.5 rubles. Pasta rose in price by 6.6 percent, to 42.5 rubles per kilogram.
The press service of the ministry explained to the publication that the situation in the food market is assessed as stable. “The vegetable group demonstrates the greatest dynamics in January. This is seasonal and is associated with a reduction in the stocks of the 2020 harvest,” the department explained.
According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov, the government has no plans to fix prices for other goods by analogy with granulated sugar and sunflower oil. He explained that the department interacts with retail chains and industry associations on an ongoing basis.
