Companies dealing with ores and tungsten concentrates located in the Primorsky Territory will conclude an agreement with the Ministry of Finance of Russia on the refund of the mineral extraction tax (MET). As a result, enterprises will not be closed, and the settlement of Vostok in the Krasnoarmeisky district of Primorye will not take place. Almost all residents of the village of Vostok could be laid off, said the head of the Interregional Coordination Council of United Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, State Duma Deputy Viktor Pinsky following a meeting of the Ministry of Finance on the severance tax for tungsten. Since January 2021, the rate on this tax has increased by 3.5 times, which threatened bankruptcy and the closure of a number of Far Eastern enterprises. The Mining and Metallurgical Trade Union of Primorye and the Federation of Trade Unions of the Primorsky Territory, company executives addressed the problem to Viktor Pinsky.
“We have done a difficult job: the trade union and regional authorities, the representative office in the Far Eastern Federal District, United Russia, the faction of the party in the State Duma. The problem was examined from different sides in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of the East, the Ministry of Labor. “It was painstaking work to collect documents for the Ministry of Finance with explanations of the negative consequences for the enterprise, employees and tungsten production in Russia. Legislation is a living process, and our idea is that it is citizens who influence the formation of laws,” he stressed Victor Pinsky.
