A Belarusian schoolchild was injured by an exploded phone battery. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus.
The incident took place on the evening of January 24th. According to rescuers, the Nokia 3310 smartphone caught fire after a battery explosion. At this time, the gadget was on charge. To all appearances, a child born in 2005 was lying next to the lit device. The schoolboy got burns.
The victim was hospitalized, he was diagnosed with a thermal burn of the left thigh. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the cause of the fire is being clarified.
According to the message, the child was injured while charging a re-released version of Nokia 3310, presented in May 2017. In early 2018, the company released another version of the 3310 with 4G and Wi-Fi support.
Earlier, Sergey Kuzmenko, a senior specialist in testing digital products of Roskachestvo, told in what cases it is impossible to put a smartphone on charge. According to him, it is not recommended to plug the device into an outlet if the phone is hot or if it is wet. Also, the device should not be charged if its battery is swollen.
