Many items from the Cold War era will be on sale in the United States, including weapons and secret equipment of Soviet intelligence – the former collection of the closed KGB espionage museum. This is reported on the website of the auction house Juben’s Auctions, which organizes the auction.
The press release notes that the auction will take place on February 13 in Beverly Hills. Among the lots will be American artifacts, but special emphasis is placed on things that belonged to Soviet spies. These are miniature pistols disguised as lipstick and a fountain pen, tiny cameras for placing in a tie or cigarette case, a set for drilling narrow holes in walls – these were then placed listening devices.
The famous encryption machine “Violet” from the beginning of the Cold War and a bust of Lenin, which allegedly stood at the headquarters of the Kaliningrad KGB, are on sale.
The fact that the museum will be closed due to the pandemic became known in October last year.
