Available Linux server distribution release Zentyal 7.0 , built on the package base of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and specializing in creating servers to serve the local network of small and medium businesses. Including the distribution kit is positioned as an alternative to Windows Server and includes components to replace Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Server. The size of iso image is 1.1 GB. Separately, the commercial edition of the distribution is left, while packages with Zentyal components are available to Ubuntu users through the regular Universe repository.
All aspects of the distribution are managed through a web interface, within which about 40 different modules are combined for managing the network, network services, office server and enterprise infrastructure components. Supported fast organization of gateway, firewall, mail server, VoIP (Asterisk), VPN server, proxy ( squid), a file server, a system for organizing employee interaction, a monitoring system, a server for backup, a network security system (Unified Threat Manager), a system for organizing user logins through the Captive portal, etc. After installation, each of the supported modules is immediately ready to perform its functions. All modules are configured through a system of wizards and does not require manual editing of configuration files.
In the new release we have migrated to the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS package base. Domain controller and Active Directory implementation has been updated to Samba 4.11. SOGo Team Pack has been updated to 5.0 , supporting IMAP, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, CalDAV and CardDAV … MySQL 8 is used to store SOGo data. The DNS server implementation has been moved to BIND 9.16.1. The default size of RSA keys is increased to 4096 bits. The basic structure includes packages
