The incident occurred at approximately 19:00 North American Eastern Time (03:00 Moscow time). “The NORAD command in Alaska identified and traced two Russian Tu-142 naval patrol aircraft that entered the Alaska air defense identification zone,” the command said in a statement.
It is noted that Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and did not violate the US-Canadian air border.
