A subsidiary of Xiaomi Redmi has planned a smartphone for gamers. The top manager of the company Lu Weibing stated this on his Weibo account.
According to Weibing, in 2021, Redmi intends to focus on esports. Therefore, the company will release a flagship smartphone aimed specifically at gamers. The head of Redmi noted that this will be the first such device in the brand’s lineup. “We are ready to give eSports fans a gaming experience at a price that you cannot refuse,” Weibin said, thus hinting at the cheapness of the device.
The company representative did not disclose the characteristics of the future device, but noted that the new device will be released with the flagship Dimensity 1200 chip. The processor from the Taiwanese company MediaTek is made according to a six-nanometer process technology, consists of eight Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores, has a nine-core graphics accelerator Mali-G77. The chip supports 5G and work with neural networks.
The parent company Redmi Xiaomi specializes, among other things, in the production of gaming smartphones. In March 2020, the Chinese corporation released the latest flagship for gamers. The Black Shark 3 Pro has a 7.1-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 865 chip, up to 12 gigabytes of RAM, a triple camera with 64, 13 and 5 megapixels, a 5000 mAh battery.
