A US resident died a few hours after being vaccinated against the coronavirus. This was announced by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office in California, Fox News reports.
The authorities clarified that at the end of December, the deceased was diagnosed with COVID-19. It is especially noted that he was not vaccinated in a district medical facility. Several agencies, both at the local and federal levels, took up the investigation of the incident. The exact cause of death will not be disclosed until the completion of the investigation.
It is not known which drug the deceased received – Moderna or Pfizer / BioNTech.
The California Department of Health, in turn, indicated that no vaccine or medical procedure is without risk, but the likelihood of a serious adverse reaction is very small. The expected frequency of allergic reactions is 1 in 100 thousand.
On January 8, it was reported that in the United States, a doctor died just over two weeks after being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. His wife said that the man was completely healthy, but after being vaccinated, he developed an autoimmune disease that led to a stroke. Three days after the injection, the man first noticed signs of a developing disease – red spots, indicating subcutaneous hemorrhage. The examination revealed that the doctor suffers from an acute shortage of platelets. The company’s specialists have not yet found a connection between the vaccine and the developed disease.
Two drugs are currently approved in the US and Europe: Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. Both of these vaccines are two-part vaccines. More than four million Americans have already received the first injection.
