Red hands called a symptom of a deadly disease

Reddened palms can be one of the symptoms of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. This is the conclusion reached by the doctors at the American Mayo Clinic.

Doctors warn that this aggressive form of fatty liver disease can further develop into cirrhosis. In addition to redness of the palms, yellowing of the skin and eyes, bloating, dilated blood vessels under the skin, and an enlarged spleen may indicate the disease.

Overweight people, diabetics and patients with high blood sugar and fat levels are said to be prone to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.

In August 2020, scientists listed the reasons due to which the liver may suffer. In addition to alcohol, improper use of fruits can lead to cirrhosis of the liver: they contain a lot of fructose, which contributes to the deposition of fat. Also, a sedentary lifestyle can negatively affect the liver. Drugs may be another factor, since it is in the liver that drugs are broken down.
