A method of transferring a “nuclear briefcase” with a set of launch codes for the use of nuclear weapons from the current US President Donald Trump to the elected Joe Biden has been disclosed. Reported by CNN.
It is noted that the transfer will take place regardless of whether Trump is at the inauguration or not. As a rule, the “suitcase” is carried by an assistant who is always next to the president. As a rule, he is handed over to the assistant of the new leader right during the oath of the latter.
However, Trump will give Biden the “suitcase” in a new way. Most likely, for the first time in US history, the two leaders will have two “suitcases” as Trump is about to leave Washington.
Biden’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20. In particular, Vice President Mike Pence is invited to the event. The Democrat called Trump’s decision not to attend the event, which he said earlier, as good. The Republican, in turn, will hold his own farewell ceremony on the same day.
