German concern Bilfinger SE has refused to participate in the Nord Stream 2 project, Bild newspaper writes.
Bilfinger SE was another company that left the project. Last November, the Norwegian certification company Det Norske Veritas – Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL) refused to cooperate with the Russian export pipeline under construction. The company was forced to take such a step due to the US decision to expand the existing sanctions.
Construction of the gas pipeline stopped in December 2019 due to US sanctions. In mid-January 2021, Denmark allowed the Fortuna barge to complete Nord Stream 2, but neither she nor the Akademik Chersky pipelayer have yet begun work. Construction start dates have not yet been announced.
