Pressure on EU regulator to approve Pfizer vaccine has been reported
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has been under pressure to approve the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. Le Monde learned about it from the confidential documents of the regulator published on the Internet.
According to some of them, the quality of the drug was called into question. Despite this, a number of senior EU officials continued to push for early approval of the vaccine. In particular, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced the need to approve Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna vaccines by the end of the year in an ultimatum, the article says.
Earlier it became known that Pfizer will reduce the supply of the drug to European countries amid the modernization of production. According to preliminary forecasts, the situation will change in February. The same drug against coronavirus is inoculated in the US and UK.
