Google has banned use of Google API in third-party browsers based on Chromium

Google announced to impose restrictions on its internal APIs in third-party browsers based on the Chromium engine. In addition to the general functionality, the Chromium codebase also contains some features used in the Chrome browser and tied to Google services. These include linking to a Google account, the Click to Call mechanism, and a service for synchronizing user settings and data.

An audit revealed that some third-party browsers use these features in their products to integrate with Google services. Decided, starting March 15, to restrict access to such internal API , while data such as bookmarks, passwords and browsing history previously saved through third-party browsers will be left in the Google user account and are available for viewing on the page My Google Activity or downloads under Google Takeout .
