Using the popular iPhone charger can cause a fire. This is reported on the website of the manufacturer of the defective Belkin accessory.
The company said it is recalling the Belkin Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition, serial number WIZ003. The message says that a defect has been found in the device, which can lead to overheating of the charger, electric shock and fire.
The Belkin website clarifies that to date, there have been no reports of property damage or personal injury caused by using a dangerous gadget. However, the accessory manufacturer has acknowledged the defect and has recommended that owners of the charger unplug the charger and contact Belkin. The company promised to issue a return and refund.
Belkin is one of the leading manufacturers of iPhone charging accessories. No defective charger was found on Apple’s website. However, a similar device from Belkin can be purchased at the company’s American online store for $ 60.
In the fall of 2020, it became known that Apple finally buried the AirPower wireless charging project. An accessory for the simultaneous charging of several gadgets was announced in September 2017, but in March 2019, representatives of the American company said that during its production they could not reach “high Apple standards” and canceled the release of the device.
