Germany banned boarding a plane without a special mask

Air passengers in Germany were prohibited from boarding a plane without specially selected masks with an increased degree of protection. This is reported by the NDR with reference to the German Aviation Association (BDL).

Starting February 1, all passengers over six years old will be required to wear FFP2 or N95 respiratory masks: these are worn by surgeons during operations. It will also be prohibited to take them off at airports.

These masks provide more protection than standard medical masks. It is noted that simple disposable masks will be prohibited to use, as well as reusable ones, including homemade ones. It will not be possible to make an air flight in a special plastic shield on the face, which is sometimes used as a means of protection.

At the end of December, it was reported that a pregnant Russian woman disrupted the plane’s flight from Yekaterinburg to Moscow, refusing to put on a mask: the woman was eventually taken off the flight, and takeoff had to be postponed for an hour.
