President of Tajikistan opened a museum named after himself

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon opened a museum named after himself in Dushanbe on January 22, writes the Asia-Plus portal.

The exposition about the “Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation” is located in the building of the Tajik National University. “The museum is open to perpetuate his services to the people and the state,” the press service of the head of state says.

It is noted that Rakhmon from 1977 to 1982 studied at the Faculty of Economics of the university. The opening of the museum was also timed to the commissioning of a new building of the university dormitory. At the opening, the President met with builders and students.

On October 12, 2020, Emomali Rahmon was re-elected as President of Tajikistan, receiving more than 90 percent of the vote. He has ruled the state since 1994 and will rule for at least another seven years. According to the amendments to the Constitution of the countries of 2016, Emomali Rahmon can be re-elected to his post an unlimited number of times.
