Facial paralysis following the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine is rare, but the cause is still unclear. This was told by the Israeli doctor Leonid Eidelman, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Eidelman assured that in most patients, such a complication after vaccination goes away rather quickly. “But it is possible that there will be extremely rare cases when this will remain to some extent: there will be improvements, but not completely,” the doctor added.
It was previously reported that 13 people vaccinated with Pfizer had facial paralysis. Three more reported a metallic taste in their mouths, two had difficulty breathing, and one passed out.
At the same time, Israel doubted the declared effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine. The coordinator of the national coronavirus program, Professor Nachman Ash, said that more than 12.4 thousand Israelis became infected with the coronavirus even after the first dose of the vaccine was delivered. Among them, there are at least 69 infected who received the second injection.
Mass vaccination against COVID-19 in the country began on December 19. First, the drug is received by health workers and medical students. Among the first in line are also Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and heads of municipalities. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the first in the country to be vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Pfizer vaccine.
